The fundraising page was posted on Saturday for Landen Hoffmann of Woodbury Minn. What a monster to grab an innocent child and do such a frightful thing! If you'd like to donate, the link is attached to this story.

"Every prayer for your family and your sweet little boy!" another couple posted a minute earlier.

Authorities have not yet identified the boy or provided an update on his condition, citing the family's request for privacy.

Police have said the boy remains in the hospital with serious injuries. He's still receiving care.

Hanneman said the boy suffered life-threatening injuries.

"(Through) our investigative work and witnesses that we've spoken to, we feel confident saying that the suspect threw the child off of the third floor. "But as to why he did that - it's still something we're looking into and trying to figure out".

Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda, 24, who has a history of mental health issues, is being held in the Hennepin County jail on suspicion of attempted murder.

Witnesses told police the child had been either thrown or pushed and that the suspect had taken off running. He said she was screaming, "Everybody pray, everybody pray. Oh, my God, my baby, someone threw him over the edge, '" Brian Johnson told WCCO.

In a statement Friday afternoon, the mall's management acknowledged the incident.

Potts said Bloomington police had not had any contact with the suspect since 2015, until Friday's incident. "We started this GoFundMe for their family to help cover the vast medical costs and rehabilitation costs for the long ahead".

Landen "has a very long road to recovery ahead of him".

A family is horrified after a "monster" allegedly threw a five-year-old boy from a third-floor balcony in a shopping centre. Police say they have a 24-year-old man in custody.

Aranda's criminal record includes two convictions in 2015 for obstruction of the legal process/interfering with a peace officer, as well as convictions for fifth-degree assault, trespassing and damage to property.

It happened at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota shortly after 10am local time on Friday. In another case, Aranda assaulted a woman inside Twin City Grill after she refused to buy him food. In this case, he started fighting with the restaurant's manager, causing frightened diners to leave, according to CNN.
