Nadler said that on Monday the committee will release the list of people and organizations it would request documents from.

When asked about Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler pursuing obstruction of justice against the President, Collins responded, "I would say to my Chairman, come back to the reality".

Jerrold Nadler told ABC's This Week programme on Sunday the committee wanted to get documents from the Department of Justice, the president's son Donald Trump Jr and Trump Organization Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg, among others.

They are also an indication of the Democrats' current strategy - to flood the administration with oversight requests, keeping Trump and his associates on trial publicly while also playing a long game when it comes to possible impeachment. To get to the point where those articles are written and approved by a Judiciary Committee majority (of Democrats and, ideally, constitutional-conservative Republicans), however, inquiries and investigations must proceed, hearings must be held, witnesses will nearly certainly have to be subpoenaed.

Nadler's broad list of parties which he requested documents from indicates he is launching a broad-based inquiry ranging from Trump's conduct in the FBI's Russian Federation investigation to the $130,000 payment to a porn star alleging an affair with him.

The committee is requesting documents from more than 60 people.

Reports indicate Trump ordered Kushner's security clearance, despite concerns
The White House security clearance process has been a major focus for Oversight Committee Democrats over the past two years. Both need to lose their security clearances immediately and be removed from access to our government.

"As a result, we are now expanding our investigation", the chairmen said, along with requesting a response by March 15.

While the Mueller investigation is focused on specific crimes, Congress' probes will cast a wider net, Nadler said.

The panel sent letters to 81 people asking a flurry of questions about Trump's activities before and after he was elected president.

Indeed, President Trump's former personal lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen's public testimony last week in front of the House Oversight and Reform Committee reinforced the importance of the special counsel's investigation into Russia's influence in the 2016 campaign.

"Over the last several years, President Trump has evaded accountability for his near-daily attacks on our basic legal, ethical, and constitutional rules and norms", Nadler said.

Undeniably, Mueller's report is poised to make numerous allegations, at the very least about the president having been involved in obstruction of justice and other possible criminal behavior. Trump denies any wrongdoing.

Rep. Adam Schiff announced Tuesday that he hired Daniel Goldman as senior adviser and director of investigations.

In addition to the White House, Nadler is seeking information from Trump family members, like Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Jared Kushner; from former administration figures like former chief of staff Reince Priebus, former national security adviser Mike Flynn, former Attorney General Jeff Sessions and former spokeswoman Hope Hicks; and from Trump campaign figures like Brad Parscale and Corey Lewandowski.

The House Judiciary Committee is sending document requests to 81 people linked to the president and his associates.

He added: "You know, the handsome thing?"

The probe of public corruption includes potential violations of the emoluments clause of the Constitution, which prohibits presidents from accepting gifts from foreign states; and possible campaign finance violations. Nadler's talk with ABC was the clearest indication yet that Democrats have chose to impeach Trump and are now simply doing the legwork involved in making that happen.
