Brie Larson Is Literally a Shining Star at 'Captain Marvel' Premiere

In 1995 we hung out with Friends did some healthy brooding to Alanis and met Woody and Buzz for the first time. But one of the biggest legacies of the year’s cultural narrative was the O.J. Simpson trial the aftermath of which continues today

Captain Marvel Ticket Bookings Are Now Live Across India

Brie Larson wears custom Rodarte to the red carpet film premiere of "Captain Marvel" at El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on March 4, 2019.

There are fanboys itching to attack me for that last sentence. I never really understood the scale, stakes or actual point of the Kree-Skrull war so the big revelation was diminished.

"The only thing I can say is, I'm directing", said Simmons.

Brie Larson wouldn't be surprised if "Captain Marvel" went on to be the "biggest feminist movie of all time". She's a superpowered person who doesn't know her past, discovers her past, remembers her strength, and becomes even more superpowered as a result.

Lukaku: "I Wanted Pogba To Score The Penalty"
Solskjaer's men secured a late comeback in the game, courtesy a brace from Romelu Lukaku and a stunner from Andreas Pereira . The manager [Ole Gunnar Solskjaer] gave me another chance today.

They jumped onto the review site Rotten Tomatoes to post negative reviews, aiming to drive down a film's audience score before any public screenings.

The movie will open in South Korea on Wednesday for the first time in the world. We've also seen the de-aging special effects used before and they continue to be extraordinary.

So when the Oscar-winning actress was tapped to play the Marvel heroine, she did just that by hitting the gym every day, seven days a week. It's also a period piece, set in the 1990s. They have inspired me over and over to be the best artist I can be. However, Gregg in fact will make appearances in the new episodes as a new character. Yon-Rogg (Jude Law) leads this team that also includes Korath (Djimon Hounsou), Minn-Erva (Gemma Chan), Att-Lass (Algenis Pérez Soto), and Bron-Char (Rune Temte). Emotions and heart don't seem to have anything to do with her decisions. It's that pursuit that lands Vers firmly on Earth or C-53 as it's called here - where questions about her past and confusion in finding her identity are about to answered. "But in her first cinematic foray and this specific telling of her origin story, that part of her history has been skimmed off the top".

At this point in the MCU it's safe to say that origin stories need a little something extra to avoid resonating as filler for the next team-up extravaganza, which in the case of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson, who has apparently crushed the egos of fragile men, mostly white, everywhere based on comments from past year taken out of context that have been spun into a trolling campaign that continues to get dumber with each new daily YouTube talking head conspiracy theory) is a teaser of her otherworldly unprecedented powers. It is neither. Most disappointingly of all, it is simply rather average. Lynch has the unenviable task of playing Carol's emotional anchor, the fellow Air Force pilot and former best friend who was as close to Carol as family. Boden and Fleck aren't yet first-rate action directors. "Watching Danvers' story play out, complete with boggling plot twists and a scene-stealing friendly feline, is hugely entertaining, and it can't be over-emphasised how central Larson, about to become the most recognised woman on the planet, is to the enterprise".

U.S. House panel launches probe into possible obstruction by Trump
A committee of the US House of Representatives is seeking documents alleging obstruction of justice, corruption and abuse of power by President Donald Trump and his aides.

Unsurprisingly, the early consensus is that Captain Marvel is a fun time that mostly does justice to its title character, even if it's ultimately on the lower end of the MCU's offerings to date.

However, more than anything, other than acknowledging that we were long deserving of a Wonder Woman movie on this level, nothing about it felt new. After conquering the trolls and taming the internet, she'll have no trouble winning over the world.

Brie Larson is an inspiration here.

Rated • PG-13 for sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and brief suggestive language.
