Trump walks out of border security meeting after Pelosi rejects wall pitch

During a televised Oval Office address Tuesday, Trump stoked racially-charged fears over immigration in an effort to rally support for the construction of his $5.7 billion "wall" along the U.S. -Mexico border, which he repeatedly promised Mexico would pay for on the 2016 campaign trail.

Trump accused Democrats of not acknowledging what he calls the "crisis" at the border and says they refuse to support funding for border security and what he calls the "common sense" wall. "I really believe the Democrats and the Republicans are working together".

The meeting in the Situation Room Wednesday afternoon came ahead of Trump's planned trip to the southern Texas border on Thursday.
