How the college football world reacted to Justin Fields transferring to Ohio State

Former five-star quarterback Justin Fields will be transferring to Ohio State according to multiple sources. Fields completed 27-of his 39 for 328 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in his 12 appearances, and he also rushed 42 times for 266 yards and four touchdowns.

He will be going on an official visit this weekend enrolling in classes, which start next week.

Fields was rated a five star dual-threat quarterback by 247 Sports and verbally committed to Georgia in October 2017. Fields was the overall No. 2 national prospect in the 2018 recruiting class and was highly sought after he announced his intention to transfer last month. He came to Athens thinking he could beat out Jake Fromm. But the most impressive stat may have been that he wasn't sacked, surprising considering Ohio State's offensive line had been riddled with leaky protection and pre-snap penalties all season.

"I appreciate what coach Smart and the UGA football coaching staff have done to help me progress as a quarterback and for their patience and understanding while I thoughtfully considered my future as a student-athlete", Fields said on his Twitter account.

Fields hopes to become eligible immediately at Ohio State, where he would have 3 years of college eligibility remaining.

This would be a huge get for new head coach Ryan Day.

He was a force offensively hitting in the heart of the order and was also one of the best defenders in baseball at his position. Even though the Yankees say the Tulo signing won't impact the Machado sweepstakes I can't help but think that's not true.

In addition to winning the Rose Bowl, Haskins finished third in Heisman Trophy voting.
