Ted Cruz and Rep. Beto O'Rourke in Dallas as they tackled numerous topics that included immigration, guns and President Donald Trump. Cruz said the accuser deserves to be heard and treated with respect, while O'Rourke went further, saying there needs to be an FBI investigation into the allegation.

The poll, which was composed among a population of 992 adults, had a credibility interval of four percentage points. That's a big deal in Texas, which hasn't elected a Democrat to statewide office since 1994.

"If he's talking about NFL players kneeling during the national anthem at a football game to call attention to injustice in this country, he'll talk about flag burning", O'Rourke said. A Quinnipiac poll showed the gap between the two as wider, with Cruz receiving 54 percent support among likely voters and O'Rourke receiving 45 percent support.

O'Rourke criticized Cruz during the debate for failing to rebuke Trump administration tariffs against China, which he said would hurt Texas trade interests. "I've got to say, [PETA] summed up the entire election", Cruz said.
