Manchester United star Paul Pogba is reportedly interested in a return to Italian champions Juventus after finding it hard to get his rich vein of form this season in the Premier League.

"Mourinho's message to the United squad, delivered at Carrington today, was created to underline his authority and remind the players that he is in charge", added The Times report.

The hours leading up to kick-off were dominated by news that Pogba would no longer captain Mourinho's side, following his recent criticism of United's playing style.

Pogba was open to a move away from United this past summer.

Wolves Owner Reportedly Wants Jimmy Butler Quickly Traded
He played in 59 games for the Timberwolves last season, averaging 22.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.0 steals per game. Butler is downplaying his fractured relationship with Towns as a reason for wanting a trade , league sources said.

With the relationship between the pair dominating headlines on an nearly daily basis, it looks very much like Old Trafford is not big enough for both Mourinho and £89 million man Pogba, with either or both expected to depart sooner or later.

He told Sky Sports: "The only truth is that I made the decision of Pogba not to be the second captain anymore".

After United's win over Leicester, Pogba claimed he would be fined if he commented on his situation at the club, while he also conceded his attitude was not right in the 3-2 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.

He has indicated privately he will not look to force a transfer in January but will reassess his options at the end of the season.

Phil Jones missed the crucial penalty in the shootout with the score at 8-7 and Mourinho admitted he was not confident of winning the tie once the centre-back stepped up.

"Going after the sixth and seventh I knew we would be in trouble with Jones and Eric [Bailly]".

"I'm shell shocked. What a performance", Lampard said. We had the personality to take penalties and play the way we did.

Ferguson's United return spoiled as Wolves earn draw
And I am pretty sure that the big man, sometimes is not happy to play on such a surface, but he has to play, and he has to win. Jose Mourinho has said three straight wins has not changed his opinion that Manchester United are in for a tough season.
