A white police officer accused of fatally shooting her black neighbor inside his own apartment was sacked Monday for "adverse conduct", the Dallas Police Department said in a statement.

In a statement released on Twitter, the department concluded that Guyger "engaged in adverse behavior" when she shot and killed Jean.

Guyger has been charged with manslaughter in the September 6 shooting that left 26-year-old Botham Jean dead. "Under civil service rules, Officer Guyger has the right to appeal her discipline". Its conclusions were discussed during a hearing on Monday, and "Officer Guyger was terminated for her actions".

Amazon Echo Sub and Smart Plug leak: Two new Alexa-powered devices
That price will increase to $49.99 after the invite-only period ends but that's still a mighty good deal for what you get. In so many words, Amazon claims the new Echo Dot is much louder, and the sound it's producing is of a higher quality.

But the criminal investigations aren't complete. Police are analyzing the digital door locks of both Jean and Guyger's apartments to get a better idea of what occurred.

Reports indicate that Guyger realized she was in the wrong apartment only after calling 911 to report the altercation.

Guyger, a patrol officer, was hired by the Dallas Police Department in November 2013. But Hall said the Texas Rangers asked her department to hold off because they had learned new information and wanted to investigate further before a warrant was issued.

She parked on the fourth floor, instead of the third, where she lived, according to an affidavit filed for the officer's arrest warrant, possibly suggesting she was confused or disoriented at the time of the shooting.

Jean, a native of Saint Lucia who worked for Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Dallas, was across the room when Guyger said she saw a "large silhouette" before giving verbal commands that were ignored before firing two shots.

The move followed Hall's declaration last week that she was "prohibited" from firing Guyger, adding further confusion to a case that has hinted at police trying to cover-up the now-former officer's puzzling excuse of confusing her apartment for Jean's.
