Scott Dixon qualifies 13th for Pocono race

IndyCar driver Robert Wickens involved in scary crash at Pocono

IndyCar driver Robert Wickens was hospitalized after a crash in the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway on Sunday.

The IndyCar race at Pocono Raceway is underway.

The 23-year-old Andretti Autosport rookie was more mindful of the big picture in his first full-time Verizon IndyCar Series season.

Wickens was tended to by IndyCar safety personnel after the crash.

Wickens launched over Hunter-Reay's vehicle and sailed into the catchfence, where the main body of his IndyCar spun several times before landing back onto the track in pieces.

Weedkiller found in wide range of breakfast foods aimed at children
Out of those products, 31 had levels above what the EWG's scientists consider safe for children, which is.01 milligrams per day. Familiar breakfast foods and snacks contain potentially risky amounts of a weed-killing chemical, according to a new study .

IndyCar officials said Wickens was awake and alert when taken from the auto, but was airlifted to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown. That caused Hunter-Reay's auto to careen into the wall and Wickens' vehicle was pulled along for the ride. Takuma Sato, Pietro Fittipaldi, and James Hinchcliffe also took heavy damage to their cars in the chain reaction.

USA driver Graham Rahal - who crashed prior to the race's rolling start - tweeted his support during the lengthy delay.

"We had the best vehicle today", said Rossi, who, in 2016, became the first American rookie to win the Indianapolis 500 since 1928. "You've got to compartmentalize", Rossi said. Scott Dixon had his lead trimmed in the championship standings, finishing third.

The race was red flagged and drivers were allowed out of their cars. "If we put a vehicle out for Stewart, it's got to be the best in the field".

IndyCar officials reported that Wickens was awake and alert, but no further details of his condition were released.

Paul Pogba v Jose Mourinho standoff
Pogba was in fine form for the start of the last season but struggled to perform when he returned from an ill timed injury. Antonio Valencia is the official captain for the season but is now out due to an injury suffered in pre-season.

"The fact that we were able to (win the race) is just a testament to the auto I had from Andretti Autosport, really the work that my teammate Zach Veach put in at the test here last week", Rossi said. The two raced each other as youngsters in Toronto and Hinchcliffe, runner-up on ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" in 2017, helped lure Wickens to IndyCar this season after a successful career in Europe.

Rahal started 18th and got into the back of Pigot before the race even got to green.

Dixon holds a 46-point lead over 2016 Indianapolis 500 champion Alexander Rossi in the standings. He also won on the streets of Long Beach in April and the Mid-Ohio road course three weeks ago.

"We've been a bit blah. I just hope everyone is alright", Dixon said. Power and Josef Newgarden made it a 1-2 start for team owner Roger Penske.

Fittipaldi appeared uninjured, as did Hunter-Reay and Sato.
