According to The Post, the officials said the new information reveals that work is potentially taking place on one or two liquid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missiles in Sanumdong, a suburb of Pyongyang.

United States intelligence officials familiar with Pyongyang's operations say that new evidence, including recent satellite photos, suggests that the regime is producing at least one liquid-fueled ICBM at the Sanumdong research facility, near Pyongyang. The Post says "the new intelligence does not suggest an expansion of North Korea's capabilities but shows that work on advanced weapons is continuing".

Last Friday, North Korea returned what were said to be dozens of remains of American soldiers missing from the 1950-53 Korean War, something that leader Kim Jong Un promised during a June summit with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Ever since the summit in Singapore, President Trump and his administration have touted the agreement he signed with Kim - even though it didn't spell out any kind of specific framework or plan for Korean Peninsula's disarmament.

Trump has reignited his fight with Congress over funding for a Southern border wall with Mexico. Trump is noting that Italian voters got "tired" of their country's immigration policies.

"Until the ink is dry on an agreement it's unrealistic to expect the DPRK to stop its programs", Wit wrote on Twitter on Monday, using the acronym for North Korea's formal name.

News of the missile production comes amid the renewed scrutiny surrounding the Trump-Kim summit which took place in Singapore on June 12.

In late June, it was reported that United States intelligence agencies believe North Korea had upped uranium production in recent months and that North Korean officials were seeking to deceive the USA in order to extract more concessions in talks. How could Kim be plotting against him when he sent him such a nice thank you note?

A U.S. official said Washington was "concerned" by North Korean violations of UN-approved sanctions, including illegal shipments of oil by sea.

Pompeo had struck a different tone, telling reporters as he left that the talks with senior North Korean official Kim Yong Chol had been "productive". "UNC never leaves troops behind, living or deceased, and will continue the mission of repatriation until every service member returns home", the command said in a statement.

Earlier this month, media reports revealed that the North was secretly operating a suspected uranium enrichment facility, called Kangson. Indeed, North Korea just dismantled a test launching site for liquid-fueled ICBMs days ago.

North Korea got respect, trade, and weapons, and now they appear to be going on as if Singapore put no restrictions on them. There is no hint of a reason for North Korea to do so, and North Korea hasn't launched a test missile in about nine months.
