Manchester United have rejected an unexpected offer from Barcelona for midfielder Paul Pogba.

In case you didn't know.

Pogba has come under scrutiny for his performances at Manchester United since returning to the club from Juventus in 2016 - some critics attribute his £89.3m fee as a source of too much pressure on the 25-year-old.

Mourinho may also be fretting over the future of Paul Pogba, after the Frenchman told team-mates he's ready to leave for Barcelona.

Real Target Tells Chelsea He Wants To Leave
Conte ultimately departed the club and he was replaced by Sarri, leaving Willian pleased to stick it out with the London side. Maurizio Sarri had expected to speak to Courtois about his future after conceding on Sunday the goalkeeper could be sold.

Pogba, though, is believed to have been more upset by what followed in the interview as Mourinho implied being in an enclosed environment over six weeks ensured he focused just on football and not on outside matters such as commercial contracts. In spite of Mourinho telling the press that all is well between them, these recent rumours have proved otherwise.

Pogba played a key role in helping France claim their second FIFA World Cup title in Russian Federation last month.

According to reports in Spain, Mourinho has in fact informed Pogba that he will not allow him to leave for Barcelona.

It would certainly be a shock for everyone if this happens. Hence, United might consider pondering over this offer.

Williams and Kaikai will both be hoping to remain at Palace and avoid being sent out on loan before Thursday's 5pm transfer deadline.

There is plenty of Manchester United and Arsenal gossip doing the rounds in the papers with the English giants linked with a whole host of star names ahead of deadline day. In fact, as The Mirror now points out, it's been claimed in the Italian press that Barca may not be the only club exploring the possibility of signing the World Cup-winning midfielder.

United are simply not interested in selling Pogba.

The Sun says Pogba has told United he wants a £200k-a-week pay rise - if he has to stay.

The Old Trafford side have made their last offer of £40m for Tottenham star Toby Alderweireld and will look elsewhere if their bid is not accepted but a compromise looked to have been accepted. They are also reportedly preparing a €100m move for Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak. Mourinho appeared to question Pogba's effort and heart while playing for his club, saying, "I don't think it's about us getting the best out of him [at Manchester United], it's about him giving the best he has to give".
