The NY Post estimates around 150 people showed up to protest the nail salon on Monday, many holding signs reading "Black $$$ matter", "They beat black women here", and "Don't spend here". The salon closed for the remainder of the day.

"There is no respect for people in this neighbourhood", Gavin Gibbs, a 49-year-old East Flatbush resident, told The New York Daily News. One person at the protest threw a bottle, hitting an NYPD officer in the back.

"Anytime a store does not respect us, we're going to shut it down".
