Tiger Woods trails by six after putting woes at Quail Hollow

There might not be quite so many happy faces around the place come Sunday if, as some are predicting, the 14-times major victor can cap a fairytale comeback by adding a fifth Green Jacket to his collection.

Jason Day sees one way to get back to No. 1 in the world.

Tiger Woods' caddie, Joe LaCava, was in a hurry to get to the putting green at Quail Hollow after a five-hour round at the Wells Fargo Championship.

Woods ran his 15-foot birdie try past the hole at 16 and had a pitiful lag birdie putt off the green at 17 that left him 17 feet for his par. You can't get in there and just kind of, you know, give it only 50 percent. "They feel springy and they feel fast especially as I am walking on them, but they are not putting that way", Woods said with a smile as he shook his head in confusion.

Did Justin Timberlake Hook up With a Spice Girl?
Carson Daly: "I was one of the very lucky people who got to hang with these guys when the entire world wanted to hang with them. The ceremony is being held one day after Timberlake performed the second of two weekend concerts at the Forum.

"They're on the slower side", Woods said.

"The way this golf course is set up and the way it's playing right now, the guys are going to be stacked". His 2nd nine was even better as he finished with eagles on hole number 7 and 8. He didn't have to punch out or lay up on any of the par 4s and found himself in a lot of fairway bunkers.

Woods three-putted twice for bogey, including the par-3 sixth hole when he had a downhill birdie chance from about 18 feet.

Woods had back-to-back birdies on the holes where Peterson made his eagles, getting him to 1 under. His chip checked up about 8 feet short of the cup and he missed that.

Arsenal fullback Bellerin: We're disappointed and sad for Wenger
Antoine Griezmann's late goal as Atletico trailed 1-0 in London last week completely changed the complexion of the semi-final tie. Arsenal tried to rally but struggled to break through Atletico's stout defense, creating few scoring opportunities.

His ball striking seemed to be just fine. "I struggled to make the adjustments today". "If I make a couple putts, I'd be 2 or 3 under par, which is fine". Hopefully, this weekend I'll hit it the way I've been hitting it and get a hot putter on the weekend. The Wells Fargo Championship leaderboard is available here. He won this tournament in 2007, but missed the cut the last two times he played in 2010 and 2012.

Woods joins now fellow Augusta National champion, Patrick Reed teeing-up both for a first occasion since last month's Masters at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina. "I just struggled with my speed on the greens all day", said Woods, who joked that he might break out a long putter for Friday's second round. He had putts inside 15 feet multiple times but was unable to cash in.

"I certainly was frustrated, there's no doubt about that", Woods said. I haven't had enough days like this. I played a lot of golf heading into Augusta, more golf than I thought I would be able to play, because this is all new. It effectively secured two more rounds.

"I hit it all right", said Woods, who is tied for 37th. "I made the last putt".
