Jack Nicklaus says he told his grandson three days ago he'd hit a hole-in-one when given the chance.

"To watch the kid knock in a hole in one on the biggest venue in the world, wow".

"Since I'm not playing in the tournament, I thought, 'Let's go for it this year, '" Watson said afterward.

"I talked to him this weekend and saw a few things and he is really swinging well, the best I've ever seen him swing", according to Nicklaus.
