EPA documents question justification for Pruitt's 24/7 security detail, first-class travel

Senate Democrats have obtained internal Environmental Protection Agency documents they say show no evidence of specific, credible, physical threats against Administrator Scott Pruitt.

The AP reported Friday that Pruitt's concern with his safety came at a steep cost to taxpayers as his swollen security detail blew through overtime budgets and at times diverted officers away from investigating environmental crimes.

Clearly irked over Pruitt's refusal to satisfy the committee's requests, Gowdy demanded the administrator "Provide the requested documents and information as soon as possible, but no later than April 25, 2018".
