The Illinois Department of Public Health says that 56 people have been injured, two of whom fatally, after ingesting synthetic cannabinoids, often called Spice, K2, or fake weed.

The cases, which have all been reported in the Chicago area or central IL, have required people to be hospitalized for a range of symptoms, including coughing up blood, blood in their urine, a severe bloody nose and bleeding gums, according to IDPH.

"Despite the perception that synthetic cannabinoids are safe and a legal alternative to marijuana, many are illegal and can cause severe illness", IDPH Director Nirav D. Shah said in a statement earlier this week.

Officials have been struggling to identify where the contaminated synthetic pot is coming from, and warn that it may be available across the state.

Since the campaign was launched, more than 100 jihadists and at least 22 soldiers have been killed, according to official figures. Sisi directed "thanks and appreciation to Moussa Mostafa Moussa who lead an honest and civilised competition".

There's not much information about the synthetic marijuana death, and Arnold said there won't be in order to protect the victim's identity.

One of the deaths was in Chicago and the other in central IL.

However, the effects of those chemicals on a person are, according to IDPH, quite unsafe.

MyFox8 reported that 2 people died and 54 other cases of severe bleeding were reported.

During that time, physicians treated 456 patients total for synthetic cannabinoid intoxications.

French rail workers begin months of strikes
Local media reported severe disruption across the country - including to high-speed TGV trains and Paris commuter services. Staff at Air France , garbage collectors and some energy workers were also staging separate walkouts on Tuesday.

Per the IDPH, synthetic cannabinoids are human-made, mind-altering chemicals that are sprayed on to dried plant material. In fact, they are not safe and may affect the brain much more powerfully than marijuana; their actual effects can be unpredictable and, in some cases, more risky or even life-threatening. Synthetic cannabinoids are found in drug paraphernalia shops, novelty stores, convenience stores, gas stations and online, according to IDPH.

In Illinois, 17 cases have been reported in the Chicago area since March 7, followed by 14 cases in Peoria County and 12 cases in Tazewell County, according to the most recent data from the state health department.

People who smoke synthetic cannabinoids can have rapid heart rate, vomiting, agitation, confusion and hallucinations, according to the CDC.

In less than a month, 34 people have experienced symptoms as the state government continues to investigate where the products are obtained and where people are buying it. Tell your health care providers about the possible link between your symptoms and synthetic cannabinoid use.
