The teen came under scrutiny a year ago when a parent tried to stop him from wrestling in the female division by filing a lawsuit arguing that Beggs' use of testosterone during his transition gave him a competitive advantage, USA Today reported.

Mack Beggs, an 18-year-old senior from Euless Trinity High School near Dallas, entered the tournament in Cypress outside of Houston with an undefeated record.

Texas public high school policy dictates that students must compete under the gender that they were defined as at birequestedAs part of his transition, Beggs has started a low-dose of testosterone. Beggs posed. "I can tell the state Legislature to change the policy, but I can't tell them to change it right now".

"He has so much respect for all the girls he wrestles", Beggs' mother, Angela McNew told the AP.

Beggs has previously stated he'd prefer to compete in the boys division, but UIL rules mandate participants must compete against the gender that appears on their birth certificate. "They're saying, 'steroids.' They're saying, 'Oh, they're beating up on girls, '" he said.

Jaguars finalizing 3-year contract extension with Blake Bortles
The first priority is re-signing receiver Allen Robinson , who missed almost all of the 2017 season because of a torn left ACL. Blake Bortles will be the quarterback of the Jacksonville Jaguars next season, and will be sticking around longer than that.

"It definitely felt different", Beggs told the Dallas Morning News, describing her experience of winning her second title.

It was done to help schools determine competition, said Jamie Harrison, the UIL's deputy director.

Mack Beggs has captured his second straight state wrestling title. As he defeated Sanchez, boos rang out from the crowd.

"Or if you want to do it, you can quit the sport".

Further images showed supporters clashing with police, with the local force later reporting the death of an officer. But compare this to how the Champions League and the Europa League matches are organized in Moscow.

"I wanted to come out on top, and in my heart-I feel like a champion", Beggs said. "It all comes down to technique and who has the most heart".

The solitude allowed him to concentrate on the task ahead and perhaps shield him from attacks on social media and occasional insults from the stands - or even other wrestling mats - during meets.

Parents are reportedly concerned about the safety risk of their children competing with an athlete on steroids, with more than one opponent forfeiting against Beggs. Though the UIL has said publicly that it has never received an official request from Beggs or his school asking to wrestle boys.

Texas has a new two-time high school wrestling champion.
