Epic Games has announced that the hugely popular Fortnite is coming to iOS and Android devices in 2018. Fortnite: Battle Royale for mobile requires an internet connection, obviously, and is only available on the following hardware: iPad Mini 4, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017, iPhone SE, iPhone 6S and newer models.

As for a release, Epic Games is somewhat unclear about Android.
iOS users can sign up to receive an invite to try out Battle Royale starting next Monday through the Fortnite website. That would seem to put the non-mobile players at a huge advantage, given the controls, but at least it's an option. Invites will be sent out via email with a link to download the game from the App Store. We know Fortnite for Xbox One can cross-play with other platforms, so there's likely a reason behind its exclusion.
