Lastly, it has a vacation responder feature that will tell people if users are not working on the basis of checking their calendar.

In another screenshot that Area 120 shared, the team shows that Reply can take Smart Replies and elevate them to the next level. Here, it offers suggested responses to questions like "Are you at the restaurant?" or "When can you be home?" Reply will be able to interpret that as a reason to push that notification through to the user. Smart Reply functionality could save on-the-go workers time while improving collaboration. Smart replies are now used in Gmail and other Google communication options, allowing business professionals to quickly respond to simple messages.

New Horizons snaps image 3.8 billion miles away from Earth
Until now, the photo was taken farther away from Earth than any image ever, a record that stood for more than 27 years. NASA scientists are also using the New Horizons craft to analyze plasma, dust, and gas in the region.

The project, like all Area 120 projects, is unrelated to any broader developments at Google - in this case, that means it's not directly tied to Google's messaging efforts. Smart Reply has become one of the most useful features in Gmail, especially for those with a lot of inbound, or who answer a lot of their emails on the go where typing out responses is more cumbersome. Now, a development team inside Google's Area 120 incubator is reportedly working to bring the feature to popular messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Skype, and a ton of others.

Area 120 has sent invitations out to testers with a brief description of the Reply app, which basically adds Smart Reply responses to non-Google messaging apps, as well as to Google apps that don't have Smart Reply, such as Hangouts.

Area 120 is a small "experimental program within Google", and it's dedicated to creating unique apps and services - many of them that never see the light of day.
