Alcatel launches Alcatel 5, 3 Series, and Android Go based Alcatel 1X

Alcatel Revamps Its Smartphones with Supersized Screens

Alcatel wants to bring iPad-like features at an insanely low cost

But if you go with the Alcatel 5, you might actually be getting more than meets the eye. The one thing the device has going for itself is that the display has a 18:9 aspect ratio, so the bezels on top and bottom are a bit trimmer. It, however, makes up for it with dual cameras on the front, another 13 megapixel f/2.0 sensor paired with a 5 megapixel super wide-angle camera. The result is an OS suitable for installation on smartphones the most basic level, to which belongs the Alcatel 1X and is guaranteed not to brake. The 7-inch variant will have a resolution of 1024×600 and go on sale for €70 in spring while the 10-inch variant will go on sale for €100 with 1280×800 resolution. Also, the mode has a parental control interface that allows parents to set usage limits. The Alcatel 3X, on the other hand, brings the screen size down just a tad, and changes the secondary rear camera out for a 5-megapixel one with a 120-degree wide angle lens for some incredible shots.

The Alcatel 5 will immediately go up for purchase in select markets in Metallic Black and Metallic Gold.

Talking about the cameras, there is a 13MP + 5MP autofocus dual rear cameras and a 5MP fixed focus single front camera. Inside there's a quad-core MediaTek MT8735A processor, 2GB of RAM, 16/32GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. It includes a 5.7-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and HD+ (1440x720p) resolution. The Alcatel 1T 7 and 1T 10 run Android 8.1 out of the box with up to 16GB of internal storage, as well as up to 8 hours of battery life on a charge. The device is equipped with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

You might even be disappointed to find out that the Alcatel 5 only has one camera on its back, though it's a serviceable 13 megapixel f/2.0 PDAF shooter. It also sports a 3,000mAh battery, which isn't half bad given the price-tag. There is also a 12MP+2MP rear camera setup.
