Manchester United have decided to charge Sevilla fans £89 for their Champions League clash

"We will subsidise our travelling support by refunding the difference between the price charged (£89) and the price that was paid by Liverpool supporters in the Group Stage of this year's competition (£54)", confirmed Kelleher.

Manchester United have chose to charge visiting Sevilla fans £89 for their Champions League last 16 clash in response to the Spanish side's pricing strategy for the game at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Manchester United have responded to their Champions League ticketing row with Sevilla by increasing prices for the Spanish side's supporters.

"We are delighted United have fought our corner on this issue and are now working with the club to engage with UEFA to look at the non-member fees and the lack of concession tickets which have often been used to hike up prices for our away fans".

Real Madrid left-back Marcelo featured in 70% of teams and teammate Sergio Ramos was the most popular pick, appearing in 73.3% of sides.

A source close to Sevilla told Reuters the Spanish club would pay the difference in cost for their fans between the initial prices and the new price, as well as reporting United to UEFA.

'We have chose to increase the ticket prices for Sevilla fans for the game at Old Trafford, and use this increase to subsidise our fans, as we want this to act as a deterrent to future opponents who look to increase ticket prices for our travelling supporters.

United say they would have to move part of the away support to the top of the East Stand, which police have advised against, if they allowed 3,800 Seville fans into the stadium.

The first-leg of the Round of 16 tie takes place in Sevilla on Wednesday 21 February, with the second-leg at Old Trafford on Tuesday 13 March.

Any money left over from the price increase will be donated to the Manchester United Foundation, the club's charity arm.

In addition, to ease the financial strain on their own supporters, Manchester United will use the proceeds of those ticket sales to subsidise those who have bought tickets to the away leg.

'Further to our recent confirmation that you were successful for the Sevilla away game, we wanted to inform you of a change in what you will be charged for this game.

Sevilla get round the regulations on ticket prices because they have also increased the prices home fans will need to pay to watch the game.
