Samsung used micrometer-scale LEDs to build The Wall, much smaller than what is now available.

Showcased in an 85in guise, the TV uses a technology called "micro full array", an evolution of full-array local dimming, which in basic terms means it can deliver 10,000 lighting zones, retina-searing brightness and black levels to match OLED displays. Samsung's new 8K QLED TV is set to rival LG's OLED line-up.

"As the world's first consumer modular MicroLED television, "The Wall" represents another breakthrough", said Jonghee Han, President of Visual Display Business, Samsung Electronics. Now, Samsung is upping the ante in the television world, introducing its 146-inch modular television, dubbed "The Wall".

Political parties welcome SC's decision to reconsider law criminalising homosexuality
Despite this setback for LGBTQ supporters, there are still many legal challenges waiting for the religious freedom law. The petitioners said they live in constant fear of police action due to their sexual preferences.

We're excited about this next step along our roadmap to the future of screen technology.

Samsung uses MicroLED technology in its 146-inch modular TV, which allow it to deliver "incredible definition, without restrictions to size, resolution or form", according to its official announcement.

The new features that the 8K solution packs are: detail enhancement for upgrading standard definition content, noise reduction, and edge restoration function for screen objects. The screen will debut in Korea and the USA mid-2018, with a European launch to follow (expect to hear more of this at IFA 2018).

Mohamed Salah: I want to be Egypt's Greatest Footballer Ever
Salah dedicated the award to the children of Africa and Egypt, urging them to follow their dreams and belief. Liverpool's Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah was awarded, in Accra, Ghana where the CAF 2017 ceremony was held.

Samsung also touted the TV's adjustable quality, meaning people can expand (or reduce) the size of their screen by adding or removing modules as their needs change.

Samsung's new flagship 8K TV uses a "proprietary algorithm" that will upscale lower-res video up to their Super Hi-Vision screen at 8K. It offers a simpler way to control the television and sync with other devices. The new QLED TV categorizes elements of picture quality (black/blooming/brightness) in input sources by scene to produce pictures with richer and more detailed contrast. To help find what to watch, Universal Guide will act as a program guide and offer recommended TV shows based on viewing habits.

2018 TVs obviously improve on that, and they will likely still be better than traditional LCDs and even OLEDs to some extent; they just won't quite be what true QLEDs will bring a few years from now, when the backlight is removed altogether.
