At about 4 a.m. Tuesday, officers were called to a convenience store at 3410 W. US 501 in reference to an armed robbery, the release from Sgt. Darren Alston states.
Police say they received calls about a man armed with a rifle at the Walgreens in Hamburg late Wednesday night. He then knocked merchandise to the floor and took the cash register. Authorities say the clerk was the only person in the store at the time of the robbery.
