United Airlines flight 895 from Chicago to Hong Kong was forced to make a pit stop in Alaska, diverting to Ted Stevens International Airport, on Thursday night. According to the airline, the passenger cooperated with the fight crew and was interviewed by authorities upon landing.
The man, a 22-year-old Vietnamese passport holder with USA residency, was escorted off the plane in handcuffs and met by law enforcement in the terminal, Gamache said.
A cleaning crew was able to decontaminate the entire craft but the delay forced other passengers to remain in Alaska overnight.
