The Election Commission on Friday recommended to the President that the 20 MLAs were liable for disqualification for holding offices of profit between March 13, 2015 and September 8, 2016, following which President Kovind gave his acceptance on Saturday.

Singh added that the letter of appointment given to the AAP MLAs when they became parliamentary secretaries did not mention that it was an office of profit.

"People of Delhi feel that the AAP MLAs must now return all financial benefits they were given from the day they were appointed as parliamentary secretaries", stated Tiwari.
