Local authorities and the Federal Bureau of Investigation were trying to figure out whether the child in the images is the missing girl, but the Onslow County Sheriff's Office confirmed around 9:45 a.m. that the pictures are not of Mariah Woods and an unknown woman.

Among the searchers looking for Mariah on Tuesday was Mike Caley, assistant chief at the Haws Run Rescue Squad.

A statewide Amber Alert has been issued for Mariah. Deputies are asking anyone with information on the girl's whereabouts or who has had contact with the girl's family since Sunday to call them at (910) 989-4070. Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing and bring their own water and snacks. The FBI said Thursday that it is testing "items of interest" at its lab in Quantico, Virginia. Woods said he's desperate to find his daughter and his biggest hope is that she will be returned home safely. Woods said he cooperated and gave as much information as he could.


Members of her family belong to the church. "They're having some rough moments", said Cliff Wilson, Folkstone's pastor. The back door was unlocked, they said.

Wednesday, 7 p.m. - The Jacksonville community came together tonight to hold a vigil for Mariah Woods.
