Hot reads: Why did Patriots ban Tom Brady's own trainer?

Tom Brady's personal trainer, Alex Guerrero, reportedly had his sideline access revoked by the New England Patriots and is no longer allowed to board team planes.

But the Globe reported Belichick has banned Guerrero, 52, from team planes and the sidelines and, other than Brady, the trainer can not treat players in his stadium office, moves, the report said, that have created friction within the club.

Under the revised policy, many of Brady's teammates who have been treated by Guerrero at Gillette are continuing to see him at the nearby TB12 Center.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick had permitted Guerrero to have an office near the Patriots locker room, fly with the team to road games and work from the sidelines at every game.

Gilbert is a first-team all-Mid-American Conference selection who has recorded more than 120 tackles each of the last two seasons. The ESPN college basketball analyst and Florida native has weighed in on Kiffin's big news.

Needless to say, Belichick obviously viewed Guerrero as a distraction or a problem that needed to be fixed and it appears he has done just that.

Tension between Belichick and Guerrero date back to 2015, when reports said the Patriots' medical and training staff were concerned Guerrero's alternative treatments clashed with the team's methods.

However, Belichick allowed members of the Patriots to spend time training at the TB12 center. He was cleared of wrongdoing in a 2014 letter instructing him to abide by state regulations while supervising licensed therapists at the TB12 Center.

For reasons that he has yet to disclose, Belichick this fall restricted some of Guerrero's special access to the team. In the past, Brady's partner was sanctioned by federal regulators after he incorrectly claimed to be a medical doctor, and also promoted products he said could prevent concussions and cure cancer. The sudden move is raising a lot of questions about a Belichick-Guerrero-Brady feud.

After Brady suffered his knee injury in 2008, his relationship with Guerrero took off.

Belichick did not want to play along.

There's no telling what was the tipping point for Belichick, especially after previously saying he couldn't get rid of him because Brady liked him.
