The silence in Anaheim was interrupted earlier today as BlizzCon 2017 attendees heard the latest news from the publisher: StarCraft II is going free-to-play on November 14. Of course there's a catch, but nothing nefarious. Log in between November 8 and December 8 and Blizzard will give you Heart of the Swarm, the zerg-centric second part, for your trouble.

Reports said that the boy sustained a bullet wound around his groin area, while the other victim was shot in the abdomen. A person who answered the phone at the Starbucks location calmly said he was not allowed to talk to media.
"StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty brings players back to the sci-fi world they've been pining over for more than a decade, and it doesn't disappoint", we wrote at the time. This is great news for gamers who have been wanting to get into the game. That said, exempt from the level five limit will be Raynor, Kerrigan, and Artanis, who you'll be able to level up however high you wish, for free. Specifically, according to a Blizzard blog post, that includes the original Wings of Liberty single-player campaign, every co-op commander, and competitive multiplayer. In the seven years since it released in 2010, StarCraft II has awarded over $11M in prizes to competitors. Blizzard has done a fantastic job of keeping StarCraft 2 current between paid expansions, free updates, and community events. Additional single-player campaigns, and co-op commanders can be unlocked via the Blizzard Shop. But in a seeming effort to combat account abuse, players will first have to achieve 10 game-of-the-day victories in either the unranked ladder or against the game's AI, before they can access the multiplayer ladder. The Nova Covert Ops mission pack will also be $15, or you can opt to get all three as a $30 bundle. You can also purchase any of the campaigns or a seasonal War Chest to gain immediate access to ranked play if you desire.

There's also a chance that we'll see a new iPad Pro as early as next summer, which could make matters even more complicated. Instead, future phones may be packed with chips from Qualcomm rivals Intel and MediaTek.
World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth expansion announced
There's no timeframe for launch, but the experience should be welcome from WoW players pining for the old days. Battle for Azeroth also includes a new legendary neck piece called the Heart of Azeroth.
