The Iranian Foreign Ministry has responded to the call of the French President to hold talks on the country's ballistic missile program, firmly rejecting the idea and noting that it is exclusively defensive in nature.
But Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi rejected that possibility.
"We have repeatedly told French officials that the JCPOA is non-negotiable and it is never permitted to infuse new issues in the agreement, notwithstanding the point that France is aware of Iran's firm stance in non-negotiability of defensive capabilities", ascertained the spokesperson of Iranian ministry of foreign affairs.
The comments come in response to French President Emmanuel Macron, who said that there is a need to start negotiations regarding Iran's ballistic missiles.

The United States backed the Saudi claim that the missile was supplied by Iran and urged the United Nations to hold Tehran accountable for the violation.
"The missile that was intercepted by Saudi Arabia launched from Yemen, which obviously is an Iranian missile, shows precisely the strength of their" weapons program, Macron said on November 9.
The United States has imposed unilateral sanctions on Iran, saying its missile tests violate a U.N. resolution that calls on Tehran not to undertake activities related to missiles capable of delivering nuclear weapons.
Iran has vehemently ruled out any negotiation on its missile program which it deems as an inseparable plank of its national security, meant for defense and deterrence.

He emphasized that France must persuade its Persian Gulf allies to pursue "wise and unsentimental" policies and approaches.
Tehran expects Paris to remain "realistic, fair and farsighted" when it comes to the sensitive developments in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf regions, Qassemi underlined.
He called on the French government to adopt "tangible strategies" and compel its allies in the region to put an immediate end to war and bloodshed in Yemen with the objective of establishing peace and stability in the impoverished country.
Iran has denied any involvement in the missile attack while calling the Saudi accusations "false, destructive, irresponsible and, above all, provocative".
