Russian Jet Buzzes US Military Spy Aircraft, Causing 'Violent Turbulence'

The maneuver left "violent turbulence" in its wake, forcing the P-8A to deal with a 15-degree roll, according to Baldanza.

After the US accused Russia of buzzing one of its jets in an "unsafe" way over the Black Sea, a decorated Russian general has fired back, saying American airmen had no business flying in these European waters to begin with.

Approaching at high speed, the Russian jet, equipped with air-to-air missiles, came within five feet of the United States aircraft during the 24 minute incident.

A U.S. Navy P-8 Poseidon surveillance plane, like the one pictured above, had an unsafe encounter with a Russian SU-30 fighter jet while flying over the Black Sea on Saturday, the Pentagon said.

Traffic above the shared waters in Europe's southeast has resulted in a handful of tense encounters since relations with Moscow deteriorated in 2014 and the near miss between the Russian and USA jets was among the more spectacular.

The U.S. P-8A Poseidon did nothing to provoke the maneuver, defense spokesperson Michelle Baldanza told the Daily News.

Royal family reportedly thrilled with Prince Harry's engagement
It was said that Prince Harry has informed her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and other members of the royal family. Her father was a TV lighting director for soaps and sitcoms and her mother a clinical therapist.

The incident appeared as the first known incident of such type since the same incident was happened in June, when a Russian armed jet fighter buzzed a reconnaissance aircraft of the US Air Force flying over the Baltic Sea.

"The Russian military is within its right to exercise within global airspace, but they must respect worldwide standards set to ensure safety and prevent incidents", Baldanza said. The U.S. Navy deemed the interaction safe.

The U.S. plane "was operating in worldwide airspace and did nothing to provoke this Russian behavior", a Pentagon spokeswoman was quoted by CNN as saying.
