The project will include 18 new buildings, 6.7 million square feet of renovated workspace and $150 million in transportation infrastructure improvements as well as new public spaces, green spaces and sports fields.

Microsoft announced the development to employees Tuesday evening.

Microsoft added that the construction project will take between five- and seven-years to complete and involves replacing 12-low rise buildings with 18 new offices, many of which will be double the height.
