That doesn't exactly lend to any sort of bragging rights among such a crowded - and high-ranked - conference, but with four games left (and Ohio State still having to face bitter rival MI at the end of November) the Nittany Lions could find themselves still in the title game discussion.

The No. 24 Spartans checked it off for the second time with a 27-24 upset win against No. 7 Penn State on Saturday night in East Lansing. He's thrown for 16 touchdowns and run for 8 more.

Penn State's Trace McSorley was 26-for-47 passing for 381 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions.

1 dead, 2 injured after shooting at Chicago Starbucks
Reports said that the boy sustained a bullet wound around his groin area, while the other victim was shot in the abdomen. A person who answered the phone at the Starbucks location calmly said he was not allowed to talk to media.

Michigan State inched up the field and ate four minutes off the clock before calling a timeout to set up the game-winning field goal with four seconds left.

Michigan State officials project that the game won't resume until 4:15 p.m., although that is not an official time for a restart. The Nittany Lions outscored their opponents 104-3 in the first quarter through the first eight games of the season. Both sides have stuck to the pass with the teams combining for just 11 rushing yards thus far.

Michigan State took its first lead of the game midway through the third quarter after driving 91 yards in 10 plays. Penn State head coach James Franklin was then seeing running around the field and rounding up some of his players to keep them from exiting Spartan Stadium.

A couple of plays later, Coghlin split the uprights from 34 yards out as time expired to put the Nittany Lions' national title hopes to bed.

The Lions still rank second in the Big Ten in points allowed per game while the Spartans are first in the conference against the rush. Both were injured in last week's 39-38 loss to Ohio State and didn't dress on Saturday.

Fans were told to leave the stadium when the weather rolled in.
