In the comics, she spent decades operating under the name Ms. Marvel, before taking the title of Captain for herself in a series of comics by Kelly Sue McCormick starting in 2012. Ben Mendelsohn was previously reported to take on the villain character Half Nelson. That trend continues now with the addition of Jude Law, who has apparently just landed the male lead opposite Brie Larson in Captain Marvel.
Repped by WME, Julian Belfrage Associates and Karl Austen, Law recently signed on for the role of young Albus Dumbledore in Warner Bros' Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Gindenwald and finished Woody Allen's latest untitled movie and the spy thriller The Rhythm Section with Blake Lively. The significance of the film can not be understated as it is the first female solo-outing for a Marvel superhero after a slew of male-centric features. Well it sounds like the film is going full-on Ant-Man, as Law will be filling the role of Doctor Walter Lawson, otherwise known as Mar-Vell-the first Captain Marvel.
Kashmir: At least three LeT militants killed in Kupwara district
The terrorists, who were hiding in a house, were asked to surrender but they kept on firing on search parties. The fire was immediately retaliated and in the ensuing encounter, three militants were eliminated.
In the comics, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel was a test pilot who gained super strength and the ability to fly after being caught in an explosion with a Kree device.
We already knew the Kree, an alien race who made their initial MCU appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy, figure into the plot and there were early rumors that Mar-Vell might appear in the film, so this all checks out.
A Sunny and Cool Afternoon
It will be mostly sunny with clouds sailing through, reaching a high near 47 degrees, according to the NWS. Temperatures will be cool, but this week is expected to be sunny as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday.
Beyond this tidbits, details on Captain Marvel are still sketchy.
"Captian Marvel" is due out on March 8, 2019.
