Xiaomi's latest love for the Bezel-less smartphones can be witnessed after Mi MIX 2 was launched in China last month with Xiaomi Mi Note 3 and the successor to the smartphone is being launched in India on Tuesday at an event in New Delhi. Designed by Philippe Starck, the phone is set to cost Rs 35,999 in the country. Nokia 8 comes in at Rs Rs 36,999 for 4GB + 64GB version.
Manu Jain, Vice-President, Xiaomi and Managing Director, Xiaomi India, said, "With Mi MIX, we gave everyone a glimpse of what the phone of the future would look like". I know, I know, what you will be thinking now. No, because Xiaomi is perceived as a budget brand, only competing in the sub-20k range.

Being a flagship phone, the Mix 2 offers top-notch hardware in the form of 2.45GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, Adreno 540 GPU.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 features MIUI 9 which is based on Android Nougat and it features front and rear cameras. The 5MP front-facing camera now comes with the facial recognition support and also offers 36 beauty modes. Frankly, the company has to revamp its software to match the Mi Mix 2's bezel-less design because it has now started to feel dated. Yet, such is the phone market in India that success is not guaranteed, even when the phone is from a company that is undoubtedly one of the top smartphone companies in India. The Mi 5 was launched to much fanfare but didn't sell at all.
The right side of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 sports the volume rockers and lock button. It's smaller. It's more approachable.

The fit and finish of this smartphone are on par with the likes of Samsung and LG and Apple. The device has been launched with a price tag of Rs. 35,999. An IR port is missing on the phone, something that the company proudly uses saying that it's useful for controlling home appliances and electronics. Starting with the introduction of USB Type-C and Quick Charge 3.0 in Mi Max 2, the wave seems to have caught on with the Mi MiX 2. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack in the phone.
