It was scary and shocking news to find out about.

At around 10pm local time Sunday night, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock began to open fire on attendees of the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas.

As The Daily Beast reports, police are now investigating leads which indicate that the shooter may have initially planned to attack a larger music festival, which was held a week earlier.

Police found nearly two dozen guns in Paddock's hotel room and another 19 in his home in a retirement community in Mesquite, Nevada.

Stephen Paddock rented multiple condos overlooking the annual Life Is Beautiful Festival, which this year was headlined by Lorde and Chance the Rapper, said the source, who is not directly involved in the investigation but has been briefed on its progress.

Lorde was co-headlining Life Is Beautiful with Chance the Rapper. Sources believe Paddock may have "lost his nerve" or changed his plans during the time of the festival, and planned a different shooting for the following weekend.

A source told CBS News that Paddock tried to reserve rooms at a building overlooking the venue. A spokeswoman for The Ogden referred questions to Las Vegas police.

They apparently suggested Paddock may have lost his nerve at the earlier festival, and instead turned his attention to the Route 91 Harvest Festival, where he undertook the most deadly mass shooting in modern USA history.

That's what they're learning. "They're learning to play together and come together and that's exciting and it's fun to watch". Those who would want to support the Chargers can't feel great about paying $200 for a ticket and upwards of $100 for parking.
