The two women 'pawns' facing death penalty over assassination of Kim Jong-un's brother

He was testifying at the trial of Indonesian Siti Aisyah, 25, and Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong, 28, who are charged with murdering Kim Chol. They have claimed that they took part in the process as they were told it was a prank for a hidden camera for a TV show.

Kim died about 20 minutes in agony after the VX was rubbed on his face.

"We are fairly confident that at the end of trial, they will probably be acquitted", Hisyam Teh Poh Teik, a lawyer representing Huong, said on Monday.

Pyongyang has denied any role in the killing and hasn't even acknowledged the dead man was Kim Jong Nam.

"For this man (Kim Chol), after I opened his mouth, there was a lot of blood, saliva, mucus and vomit mixture which blocked my view to search for the trachea's opening".

Their lawyers argue the women were duped and the true culprits were North Korean agents who told the women what to do.

She said the reading could have been achieved if the accused was exposed to low amount or within a short period of time, and absorption through the skin was lower compared to the poison being swallowed or inhaled.

She was paid up to $200 for each "prank".

Two women were arrested days after the killing of Kim Jong-nam on February 13 as he was due to board to Macau at Kuala Lumpur airport.
