Thousands of people gathered for a memorial service at Las Vegas' Police Memorial Park Thursday night for Charleston Hartfield, an off-duty Las Vegas police officer and Nevada Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class, who was killed Sunday night when a gunman opened fire on a country music festival.

Hartfield, a 16-year Army veteran who served in Iraq, was known as "Charles", "Chuck" and "ChuckyHart", but one longtime friend and colleague dubbed him "Captain America".

A candlelight vigil was held the evening of October 5 at Police Memorial Park to remember the outstanding contributions Officer Hartfield made as a military service member, a Metro police officer and most of all as a husband and father of two children.

John Kelly, White House chief of staff , was apparently using a compromised phone without being aware of it for months. It's unclear whether the Android is Trump's original Galaxy S3, however, or a newer, more secure Android.

Hartfield was among the first memorials for the dead, whose identities have now all been released by authorities. He was 34 years old and a father of two.

Hartfield joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2002 after serving as part of the 82nd Airborne Division, KVVU reported.

Mrs. Veronica Hartfield and their two children, a boy and girl, took a seat in the front row before the sea of hundreds who came out to pay their respects. "He ultimately gave his life protecting others". I kept getting the question, were you good friends with Charles?
