Ben Higgins: NFL could put Chargers back in San Diego if they wanted

Realistically, there are only four games the Chargers theoretically have a chance in.

You may not realize this after yesterday, but Chargers fans are not merely figments of our Philadelphia sports imagination!

The Eagles felt at home on Sunday evening as the Eagles' faithful filled the StubHub Center, and overpowering the Los Angeles fans with their cheers - and boos - throughout the game. Those who would want to support the Chargers can't feel great about paying $200 for a ticket and upwards of $100 for parking.

It started a couple of years ago with the Chargers suffering through losing seasons the final two years in San Diego and fans staying away because of the stadium impasse. Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz managed the offense well and the team didn't turn the ball over.

Quarterback Carson Wentz is a big reason why the odds are starting to slant in the Eagles' favor. He threw for 242 yards with a touchdown and ran for another 14 yards. His 136 yards for the game were the most by an Eagles running back since LeSean McCoy had 154 at Dallas in 2014. Rookie kicker Jake Elliott knocked in field goals from 45 and 40 yards, giving his team a 13-0 lead. Eagles running back LeGarrette Blount took ran roughshod over the Chargers defense, breaking multiple tackles on a 68-yard run to the Bolts 3-yard-line. Should things continue to go well for the Eagles, we might look back at the Week 2 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs as a turning point. Both tackles have their work cut out for them.

Blount, Corey Clement and Smallwood rushed for a combined 200 yards and a touchdown on 36 carries in a 26-24 victory. Members of the California-based Courage Campaign, Democracy for America, activists from Black Lives Matter and other organizations participated in the protest ahead of the game, which started around 1 p.m. Demonstrators said they are aiming to re-center the protest on ending police violence against people.

Vanderbilt did a lot of things that they hadn't done on tape - relying more on their passing game than their running attack. None were more important than the three times Florida went for it on fourth down. "This was a game attrition".

"It definitely helps the overall execution of the offense", Pederson said about establishing the run. "He's prepared. And we have a plan going into each game".

"I don't think, in a lot of ways, it compares to other teams having three home games", he said.

"There's going to be a lot of evaluating tonight and tomorrow and some things are going to change". Wentz was 3-3 for 48 yards and a touchdown on the first drive of the game. It should also be pointed out that these two quarterbacks have yet to win a single game in 2017.

It's been said that for every game you win by a field goal or less in the National Football League, there's nearly certainly a loss waiting to replace it right around the corner. I really was just never in any kind of groove the whole day. The defense is bailing out the offense. And the special teams, well. That's what they're learning. "They're learning to play together and come together and that's exciting and it's fun to watch". With weapons like Jeffery, Torrey Smith and Nelson Agholor, Wentz has had enough insurance to spread the ball around the field especially in the last two games. This season they've dropped two games by three or fewer points.
