On the heels of announcements by Nest, Ring and others who have recently expanded their offerings in the do-it-yourself security market, tech giant Amazon on Wednesday launched its first DIY home security products as it officially released the new Amazon Cloud Cam and Amazon Key service.
This wouldn't have to be limited to Amazon deliveries either, as customers would be able to setup passcodes so that anyone that has the passcode would be able to enter the home. Once granted, the smart lock unlocks the door and the connected camera begins recording.
Amazon Key combines an app, a smart lock and the new Amazon Cloud Cam - an indoor security camera - to provide in-home delivery without the need for physical keys or access codes. Everton have only kept one clean sheet in their last 14 games in all competitions (v Sunderland in the League Cup third round). Thibaut Courtois says any Chelsea players secretly unhappy with Antonio Conte would not have gone to the media.
While the in-home delivery comes at no extra charge to Prime members, it does require the purchase of the Amazon Key In-Home Kit, priced at $249.99.

You can buy the package on Amazon and install yourself or opt for free installation.
If you're anxious about trusting the delivery driver, all you have to do is turn to your phone. On its website, Amazon says its delivery people are "thoroughly vetted, with comprehensive background checks and motor vehicle records reviews".

Third is the option that's stirring all the controversy, in-home delivery of items from Amazon. And if for some reason, something goes wrong-like your door won't lock or something else goes down-the delivery person is required to stand at the door while Amazon customer service is called.
The camera then streams video to the customer who remotely can watch the in-home delivery take place.
Now here's a story about Amazon's idea for easing such worries.
