Georgia is bracing for potentially far-flung impacts from Hurricane Irma, which forecasters say could swamp the coast with storm surge near Savannah and topple trees and power lines in Atlanta. And Hurricane Katia will likely make landfall on Saturday in Mexico, USA Today reported.

Irma is tied with the 1932 Cuba hurricane for the longest time spent as a Category 5 hurricane.
