Apple launched a new privacy website today to explain how it's protecting users' personal information as new technologies like facial recognition and machine learning make their way into the company's products. According to Apple, "these augmentation processes allow Face ID to keep up with dramatic changes in your facial hair or makeup use, while minimizing false acceptance". Simultaneously squeeze the iPhone X's power button and either volume button for two seconds, and it will temporarily disable Face ID by turning the phone off.
There are also several instances when Face ID won't work.
It's not the first time that a new tech introduced by Apple would enter with a snag in the supply chain, but Tim Cook and gang usually manage to solve the constraints in the span of few weeks, so hopefully that will be the case with their biggest bet in years - the iPhone X - too.
'Mass Hindu grave' found in Myanmar's Rakhine state
Myanmar's de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been facing global pressure for her handling of the violence against Rohingyas. The army says some 400 people have been killed during military operations, the vast majority of them Arsa militants.
Of course, if you don't want to use Face ID at all, you can always turn it off - just the way you can with Apple's fingerprint sensor Touch ID. The numeric representation of users' fingerprints were stored in the secure element of the iPhone's processor, and the Face ID data is stored in the exact same place. "If you're concerned about this, we recommend using a passcode to authenticate". Apple is also preventing developers from directly accessing the depth sensor data supporting Face ID, but will provide them related information concerning the distances of certain image features - an effort that should further help to protect the privacy of users. In a white paper released today, Apple assures that the "facial matching is performed within the secure enclave using neural networks trained specifically for that objective", which means data never leaves the user data. The feature comes with an "additional neural network that is trained to spot and resist spoofing defends against attempts to unlock your phone with photos or masks", something that Samsung's Galaxy S8 struggled with. Apps don't get access to facial scans or any of the data in the Secure Enclave.
Interestingly, Apple also details how Face ID will keep up with changes to a user's face over time.
To use Face ID with Apple Pay purchases, users will have to confirm intent to pay by double-clicking the side button, like on the Apple Watch. "Furthermore, it's created to work indoors, outdoors, and even in total darkness".

He said while the 2016 upticks should be addressed, preliminary data from 2017 indicates that crime is back on the decline. According to the report, there are fewer robberies, burglaries and thefts in the Garden State - but more reported rapes.
With Face ID, you can unlock your iPhone X by simply raising it up to your face or tapping the screen.
"Face ID data doesn't leave your device, and is never backed up to iCloud or anywhere else". The 10th anniversary device will be offered in 64GB and 256GB starting at $999.
Nouveau riche PSG takes on 5-time champion Bayern Munich
The former PSG coach also said that he was not scared of his former club despite Bayern's problematic start to the new season. When you buy players at this price and this level, you have to have time and they have to enter the mindset of the team.
