Pressed on whether he would uphold the US' longstanding commitment to two states for two peoples, Trump declined back in February: "I'm looking at two-state and one-state, and I like the one that both parties like", he said, standing beside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Abbas is 82 and unpopular among Palestinians, while Trump faces various crises in addition to domestic controversies weighing on his presidency.
"We have a lot of things to talk about, how to advance peace, stability and security in our region, prosperity too", Netanyahu said, standing next to Kushner. "I think that all of them are within our reach".
