Georgian soldier killed in Taliban suicide attack NATO

Taliban gunmen have attacked a local market in the centre of Gereshk district in Afghanistan's southern Helmand province, officials said.

Hekmatyar had earlier raised concerns about "thousands of Afghans" being reportedly sent to Syria to fight alongside Irani forces.

In June, three American soldiers were killed and seven more wounded in a pair of incidents that took place in the span of a single week, reports Reuters.

Saturday's insider attack, which comes as USA officials weigh sending more troops to Afghanistan, is the latest in a series of "green-on-blue" shootings of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation military personnel by Afghan soldiers and police.
