The Iranian foreign minister has lashed out at the United States for its failure to completely observe its obligations under the 2015 nuclear deal by occasionally preventing the Islamic Republic from enjoying the full benefits of the agreement.

Under U.S. law, the State Department must notify Congress every 90 days of Iran's compliance with the so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The UN Security Council later unanimously endorsed a resolution that effectively turned the JCPOA into global law.

More than three dozen former U.S. generals and admirals have written a letter to President Donald Trump in support of the Iranian nuclear deal, highlighting the success of the agreement and the Islamic Republic's compliance with the terms, as Tehran argues that the policy is inefficient.
