The first teaser trailer for Pacific Rim: Uprising premiered at Comic-Con 2017 today, and it's the definition of a teaser, offering only glimpses of what's to come.
That's the moral of the new teaser for Pacific Rim: Uprising, the sequel to Guillermo del Toro's 2013 sci-fi flick. Promising that a "new generation of Jaeger Pilots will stand tall for all humanity", it the film will star John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Jing Tian, Wesley Wong, Lily Ji, Lan Yingying, Qian Yongchen, Zhang Jin, Cailee Spaeny and Chen Zitong. Pacific Rim was ushered into existence by a true auteur filmmaker, and created by Travis Beacham, a screenwriter who laid the groundwork for multiple sequels.
United Nations says world needs to know about Yemen, journalists need access
Yemen's internationally recognised government confirmed that around 20 people were killed in the al-Atera village. The officials said the toll is expected to rise, with several women and children in critical condition.
There's also an in-universe companion site that purports to recruit for the Jaegar program, with some more information (and downloadable blueprints) for the new mechs.
While the first Pacific Rim wasn't a massive box office success domestically - pulling in a meager a little over $100 million stateside - the film performed well overseas, scoring an impressive $300 million worldwide. Danger has a new pilot, John Boyega, but the Jaegers are just as gleefully impractical as ever, what with the swords and the general giant robot tactics. You're here for the giant robots (i.e., Jaegers). The franchise narrowly pulled off getting a sequel, and now we've got an intriguing first look at how it's coming together.
