In the last week of March, the USA administration had imposed a ban on carriage of personal electronic items, bigger than a mobile phone, onboard flights in carry on baggage.
Passengers on Qatar Airways flights to the United States can now carry laptops and other electronic devices on board as the U.S. authorities have lifted the restrictions on the Doha-based airline.
Doha is the fourth of the affected cities to have the US-imposed restrictions removed.
A month ago, it suspended all flights to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt "until further notice" after those countries broke off diplomatic relations and transport links with Qatar. The airports included those at Doha, Dubai and Istanbul.

The lifting of the ban is a spot of good news for Qatar Airways.
Qatar Airways joined other major carriers in the Middle East to win an exemption on measures barring laptops from cabins of aircraft after its Doha base complied with new U.S. security guidelines.
"The Gulf carriers have the widest connections within India and in the U.S. and these carriers were most preferred by Indian customers".
