20/20 digging into OJ Simpson parole hearing in Nevada

Simpson sounded "excited" when he and Scotto spoke by phone last week, according to Scotto, who added that he will be in the hearing room with the former football star Thursday at Lovelock Correctional Center, where Simpson has been imprisoned for nearly nine years.

Yale Galanter, a former Simpson attorney, told the Daily News that Simpson has behaved well during his nine years in prison.

He has been behind bars since his conviction on armed robbery and kidnapping charges nine years ago. In 2013, he was granted parole on some counts, but had to remain in prison based on other sentences.

Police release sketch of Delphi suspect
Police say the sketch depicts a hat that may not be accurate, and they ask that the public focus on the person's facial features. More than $230,000 is offered in reward money for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer or killers.

Simpson, along with five other men, broke into the room and took back several items he thought belonged to him, including plaques, game balls, and photographs of his children.

But the board will not take that into consideration since a jury acquitted Simpson of those charges in 1995 in what has been called "The Trial of the Century". That documentary, along with the FX miniseries on the Simpson case, The People v. O.J. Simpson, offered clear data that the appetite for Simpson material remains high, even with the disgraced and incarcerated NFL Hall of Famer out of public view for many years. If granted parole, he could be released on October 1. The only knock on Simpson's record, his associate Tom Scotto said, is that Simpson conceded to having consumed alcohol prior to the robbery, but Scotto said Simpson has discussed the possibility of entering a treatment program.

Simpson has reportedly been an ideal prisoner, and his chances are very good for being released.

It seemed that many of questions were fed to JIT by someone, he said. "We try to keep civilian casualties to a minimum", he added. He also referred to the ongoing phase-1 of the fencing the Afghan border, which is being done in collaboration with Afghanistan.

In 2013, Simpson told parole commissioners, "My crime was trying to retrieve for my family my own property that was stolen from me".

"I don't want to offer an opinion", said Caldwell.

However, it's important to note that Simpson was found liable for the deaths of Brown Simpson and Goldman in a civil trial. Scotto said he has visited Simpson in Lovelock every two months and the two speak by phone regularly.
