Just a few days after Delhi's Education Minister Manish Sisodia proposed 85% reservation for Delhi students in Delhi University (DU) colleges, a high-placed source in the state government informed Catch that funding may be cut off for colleges that do not comply with the mandate.
"The House resolves that the Directorate of Education ensure 85 per cent quota for permanent and guest teacher positions, for candidates graduating from universities in Delhi for all future processes of recruitment", the resolution stated.
Sisodia also said that his government opened about 13 new colleges imparting quality education in various streams across Delhi.

On the other hand, Desper, who was driving his red pickup truck, quickly fled the scene. "She's so young. "Bright, she loved children ... very smart and made the honor roll", Roberson said of his daughter.
The House also adopted another resolution demanding an amendment in the Delhi University Act, 1922. The assembly pledged to raise the issue in front of the Centre, the Lieutenant Governor and the university administration.
The minister had met Delhi education minister Manish Sisodia, HRD minister and the vice-chancellor a year ago with a memorandum demanding the reservation for Delhi students. On this teachers argued that since these colleges constitute the Delhi University there can be no such rule as reservation can be provided to the colleges which are affiliated with the university.
Nandita Narain, President of DUTA and Federation of Central Universities' Teachers' Associations (FEDCUTA) said, "Delhi University is a central university with an all-India character, that caters to students from across the country". However, he clarified that through this demand, the Delhi government does not want to promote regionalism. AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj suggested that a delegation of all legislators, headed by BJP MLA Jagdish Pradhan, meet HRD Minister Prakash Javedkar and request him to provide reservation. The money of Delhi's taxpayers is being used to fund these colleges. The Delhi University Teachers' Association (DUTA) passed a unanimous resolution on Friday to oppose the proposal.
