J&K: 9 CRPF personnel injured in grenade attack at Tral camp

At least 12 security personnel from the CRPF were injured in J&K after militants attacked several security installations on Tuesday.

According to a police official, terrorists targeted Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camps and a police station. While two cops were injured in the attack, the terrorists fled with four SLRs rifles from the possession of the guards on duty. If reports are to be believed, there have been five attacks in South Kashmir whereas, one attack was carried out in North Kashmir. All the injured CRPF men were shifted to Army's 92 Base Hospital Srinagar.

Hours after striking in Tral, militants hurled grenades at CRPF and policemen in southern Pulwama district. However, there was no report of any injuries.

Yadav said militants also attacked a patrol party of 130 bn CRPF at Padgampora, Awantipora in south Kashmir's Pulwama district in the evening.

"The area has been surrounded for searches", the official added.

This is the second terror attack in Tral in less than 24 hours.

Also, weapons were snatched at Islamabad's Anchidora at the house of retired Justice Muhammad Athar.

All the four attacks have taken place in south Kashmir, which is emerging as stronghold of militants.

Following the attack, government forces immediately launched a massive hunt to nab the militants responsible for the attack. The condition of three out of the nine injured was reported to be serious.
