The Swedish team made amends for an earlier upset defeat to Groupama Team France by ending the three-race winning run of the Team USA with a convincing show of tactics in the 39-second victory.

By the time the boats first take to the water for the round-robin qualifiers, which begin on 27 May, almost 1,500 days will have been spent designing and engineering the boats.

Although Ainslie's team are third in the overall standings with three points, behind Emirates Team New Zealand and America's Cup defender Oracle Team USA, this is because they began the event with two bonus points as winners of the 2015-16 America's Cup World Series.

Oracle skipper Jimmy Spithill caught the Kiwis as the 50-foot, foiling catamarans rounded the mark onto the sixth of seven legs and pulled away to win by six seconds.

In his four-year sojourn in Miami, James got there four times and won two National Basketball Association titles. They're going to challenge our ballclub. "We match up well with them, and I think they'd say the same about us".

On land, pastel blue homes - the quest among the 65,000-strong population is to come up with a shade no one else has on the island - are often basic, understated, with bright white limestone roofs with grooves to collect much needed rainwater. The most noticeable feature of these boats is the way they rise up out of the water on hydrofoils - "foils" - that are winged attachments at the end of long slender keels. When the boats are foiling, they're riding only on the leeward daggerboard and both rudders. A comfortable two-hour flight from NY, the 181 islands are known and visited most often for their clear blue waters and pink sand beaches. "Clearly there is something here worth fighting for". They will be challenging against the current champions, the Americans and their Golden Gate Yacht Club. San Francisco, which provided a spectacular backdrop in 2013, fell out early.

Five years ago, as he won his fourth Olympic title at London 2012, he fumed as Jonas Hogh-Christensen and Pieter-Jan Postma appeared to team up to prevent his gold medal bid. The team is made up of some of the best British and worldwide sailors, designers, builders and racing support.

Oracle went 2-0 while Land Rover BAR, Team New Zealand, Artemis Racing of Sweden and SoftBank Team Japan all went 1-1.

However, they did not have it all their own way as they had to battle back from behind against Dean Barker's team as SoftBank Team Japan gained the better momentum out of the start box, leading going into mark 1. Groupama Team France is led by Frenchman Franck Cammas.

James isn't anxious about point spreads or any odds. "I only play blackjack in Vegas, anyway, so it doesn't matter", James said. Here's five players that will dominate the headlines of this series and how they rank in terms of importance to the outcome.

"Of course we believe we can win", said Ainslie, who played a key role in Team USA's 2013 victory before joining the British challenge. There is a designated full-time meteorologist judging the ideal conditions to take out the boat, the R1 which was preceded by four previous test boats, while for the last six weeks, someone has been working on the boat 24 hours a day inside the team's hangar. Some aggressive luffing by Oracle Team USA put them in the lead on the final upwind mark rounding, giving them the win. However, other sailors, including Kirby, will rotate in on days multiple races are scheduled. The hydraulic pressure is used to control all the wing and dagger board functions, which are critical to the performance of the boats.

After a blistering start to proceedings, the Kiwi's pedal-power hydraulic system looked like poetry in motion as they found themselves well ahead by the start of leg 3. Their bike grinder configuration looked odd but surprisingly natural, and there was no sign of the crew being in any way disadvantaged during manoeuvres.

The British shore team has less than 24 hours to fix the boat before Sunday's races, when Land Rover BAR faces Oracle and Team New Zealand. Artemis' Iain Percy thinks collisions are the biggest danger.

Barker said his boat still needs some work after Saturday's crash.

James, with three titles, is still chasing Jordan's six. "It's just my personal goal to keep me motivated-that's all.". They battled back and took Game 3 on Bradley's game-winning three and gave the Cavaliers another battle in Game 4.
